Top app development companies interview: Apptunix

Nikhil Bansal is the Founder and CEO of Apptunix. This esteemed mobile app development company is located in Mohali, India. It employs 50 developers and IT professionals.

imageBefore launching Apptunix, Nikhil Bansal was a master of iOS app development. He has developed several mobile apps in his employment career and at one point Nikhil thought of doing something by his own and that’s how he founded Apptunix. Here’s what Nikhil Bansal has to say about his mobile app development company Apptunix and the mobile world: What does your mobile app development company do? We, Apptunix, are a leading mobile app development company. We specialize in creating robust iOS, Android and Responsive Web apps aimed at offering concrete solutions to businesses, thereby improving their efficiency. The following sets us apart from others:

Workshops: Our approach to app creation is quite elaborate yet simple. We organize Workshops, wherein we take an in-depth view into our client’s business-model. We see beyond what an approaching client might have in mind initially. Our Designers, Developers, Marketers and other miscellaneous consultants apply their collective brains to unlock the full scope of a given business unit. In that way, our Workshops allow our clients to have a rare glimpse into the future.

Cost: Then there is the cost aspect. For most projects we’d charge prevailing competition cost. That means we play fair and square and don’t overcharge anyone. In fact, our main focus is to give optimum value for money to the client. We achieve that through the skill and genius of our aptly efficient development team.

Marketing: Our process of app development ensures we don’t leave the client stranded in the midst of cut-throat competition alone. Our marketing team has many tricks up their sleeves to get our created apps noticed by the general public and create a buzz. By understanding the target audience and the respective industry atmosphere, we figure out the best possible way to get maximum downloads for the apps. And we design highly immerse apps, so once users start using them they stick with them for a long time. So our marketing strategies set client businesses up in a good stead right from word go.

It’s all to do with our approach. We take a very concerted approach depending on the job-ahead. The end result is to meet client’s expectations and we believe our approach hasn’t let us down in it. What clients have you worked for? Established here in India, we’ve worked with clients both locally and from overseas. But the pool of those clients has been largely made up of startups and medium-sized businesses. In a way, that makes us expert mobile app developers and consultants to startups. Our company itself is still an emerging force. So with every project we work on, our skill levels go higher and we grow in confidence. Having said that, we’re not afraid to take on big and enterprising projects. Our team is more than capable of handling challenging requirements and getting the job done. What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop? We’ve worked on both big and small projects so to put a finger on the average price would not be easy. However, the budget range for big corporations tends to be somewhere between $50-$100K as for startups the average would be around $15K.

imageDo you develop all mobile apps in-house or do you outsource some parts of the process? All our apps are developed in-house. We have huge faith in the abilities and potential of our in-house workforce and maybe that’s why we’ve never considered outsourcing any or part of the process. Plus we believe, outsourcing does offer some complications. The very basic being a long-chain of communication and lack of flexibility deliver updated requirements. The resultant is time-delay and increased cost, which ultimately contributes to the failure of the project. On the contrary, our in-house team has everything of their need in one place, and that way whatever the requirements or challenges we encounter can be addressed and acted upon immediately.Which would you say are the best mobile apps that your company has developed and why?

Would like to answer the second part of this first. The apps that have had a bigger influence on the users are the mobile apps that we’re most proud of. As mentioned in previous answers, offering best in terms of value to the client gives us the greatest joy. Clients’ success is our success.

As for our best apps, we’ve developed a number of apps offering a marketplace to the the client and their prospective users. EzLeads, a realtor’s app is one such example, wherein the buying and selling of real-estate is simplified with the ease of mobile phones. There is LegalTap, that makes finding professional lawyers from various fields of law supereasy. CarwashFinder, helps people find and book a car wash very quickly.

Then a number of Fitness and Convenience apps such as FetchIT, BikeFit, Eventis, Next Brake allow users to stay updated and get more done on the go. A lot of these apps award loyalty points or rewards to enhance user-engagement.

Do you prefer to build mobile apps with native, hybrid or web languages?

Native. They’re recommended by Apple and Google as well. The main factor is the performance. Native apps tend to be swift and performance-oriented and they make the best use of a phone’s hardware. Although the process to develop Native apps is comparatively slower than Hybrid or Web Responsive apps, the reliability and performance issues are too-crucial to do without. Hybrid and Web apps do have their advantages for a different kind of purpose.

Let’s focus on iOS and Android mobile app development. Which are the Pros and Cons of each platform?

A million-dollar question. iOS and Android are clearly the most dominant platforms in mobile development and so it’s no surprise whenever people want to compare mobile phones, they straightaway ask which is better Android or iPhone? Here’s the answer in a nutshell.

Whereas Android offers more features and freedom of choice, iOS can boast of its devices’ stability and endless support. Where one fails the other succeeds. The choice of platform really depends on what the user wants from their device. If they’re looking for stability and are willing to have their freedom compromised then iOS would suit them, however, if they want full control over their phones without guaranteed backup support, then they can opt for Android.

Which one will evolve more within the next 5 years?

Clearly the odds are against iOS to evolve more than Android. Apple’s focus is always on stability, and that maybe lets it down in doling out updates from time to time as Android does. For some people the wait isn’t worth it and they rather go with Android. People will go for the platform that implements the changes they request. If their voice is unheard or approval takes too long, there’s no doubt, they’ll start looking for alternatives. Android should dominate the competition in time to come.

Which device is the best in the market right now?

iPhone 7 Plus obviously being the Apple’s latest iPhone is cutting edge and one that offers value for money. In Android devices Google Pixel has created a lot of buzz recently and it’s definitely living up to the billing.

And which device do you feel more comfortable developing an app for?

No favorites really! Our team has the competence to develop apps for any device. We wouldn’t call ourselves a mobile app development company if we were partial towards one device or the other.
