When the user goes on the mobile payment app, it is easy to sign up and register on it with an email ID or phone number. The OTP is sent to your login credentials and after verifying that, the person could sign up for the app.
Once the registration is done, the mobile payment app demands the linking of a bank account which will act for the payments and incomes. The transactions will be done from that account. The user can link the bank account which he owns with a simple integration method followed by the procedure of simple OTP verification.
The online mobile payment app works either by directly linking your bank account to have direct credit and debit from it. The transaction directly affects the bank balance in your account. Whereas, some apps require you to put a certain balance from your bank account to mobile wallet and then do transactions from the latter.
The easy option to send money is either by scanning QR code or directly transfer the amount to another person’s number registered with the online mobile payment app. The money is sent instantly without much wait. Just like the money is sent easily. You can also receive the payments. If you are a businessman along with a delivery app for your products to make home delivery. You also need a QR scanner with you that allows users to scan and pay you directly. They can also do this directly through the amount transfer with help of a phone number. But, it is only possible if the transaction is happening between two same apps.
Just like payments and incomes, these online payment apps have advanced features where they are directly compatible with other business domains. They directly pay your phone bills and could be integrated into grocery apps, appointment booking apps, food delivery apps, etc. for direct payment by the user without manual feeding. Just tap and pay bills!
Whatever the user transact, the balance and invoices are provided after every transaction. It could be highlighted in form of a message on a phone number or a pop-up notification on the online mobile payment app.

25.Online Payment System
Working with five leading banks of India, the sending of money on WhatsApp will be as simple as sending a text message. It is a UPI mandated feature that has been activated for 20 million users initially.
From the 5th of November, The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), India’s flagship payments processor has allowed Whatsapp to operate for online payments on its United Payments Interface (UPI).
Whatsapp is the only online chatting app in India that has more than 400 million registered users to the app. Initially, NPCI has allowed the app to start with 20 million users.
The payment gateway of the app will work with 5 major banks of India, namely- the State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and Jio Payments Bank.
To start on the payment, the user has to go to the chat window and click over the “attachments”. On clicking the “attachments”, they have to select the “payment” option and enter the required amount. The payment will be done after authenticating the pin.
The UPI pin will work with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or any of the 189 banks that can issue UPI handles.
The WhatsApp payment option could also be used for shopping on eCommerce platforms. These options are still to be implemented.
With WhatsApp coming up as an option for the online payment app, the scenario of mobile trends will surely go under a change.
The existing mobile payment apps are still in shock with this feature. However, UPI enabled apps will be in benefit as WhatsApp payments will source the UPI pins from the same to make payments.
On asking Sajith Sivanandan, business head, Google Pay, he said-
Digital payments in India is still in its infancy and any interventions at this point should be made with a view to accelerate consumer choice and innovation,
This change will affect the mobile industry to make apps in three ways
1.Existing Mobile Payment Apps
These apps will now think of enabling options of sending messages along with payments. The chat boxes could be developed to give competition to WhatsApp.
2.Existing Online Chatting Apps
The online chatting apps will try to embed the UPI pin for having safe payments. This inclusion of a payment gateway will allow users to chat and transact at the same time.
3.New Chatting plus Payment Apps
New apps will be developed where there will be chatting features like Whatsapp and payment features like any mobile payment app. To outshine WhatsApp, the features like bill payments, ticket booking, etc, will be integrated with these advanced Chatting cum payment mobile apps.
Who ever imagined that talking to someone miles apart would be that easy? And who thought you would be able to send and receive money without touching your wallets! Thanks to technology and WhatsApp that are actually combining these two. The payment structure of India with this Whatsapp payment launch feature will eventually be a “Talk of the Mobile Industry”. And there is no doubt that people will now expect apps that can make communication better and payments easier online.
